Viva Las Vegas!

Well after TWO loooong years together the boyfriend and I have decided to something drastic and idiotic. We decided to go to Vegas to ELOPE! Why not hey? We are two young kids in love and there is nothing that can come between us, we are destined for each other so why not elope? So Vegas here we come!!

Only kidding, if I really wanted to die a very early death by my mother and be resurrected and go through another, more painful death by his mother we would actually elope. Although we are not eloping we are planning for a fun surprise for the parents while we are down there.

In February we are off to Vegas and it is something my friends have periodically have begged me to get on board to do but in reality the way Vegas is usually depicted in media, movies and with my friends on Facebook I have always been apprehensive about going there. As of recent events in my life I have taken a small hiatus with my alcohol intake and I have never been much of a gambler so what could Vegas possibly offer to this small Northern girl?

Well the thing was that my boyfriend and I had the window of opportunity for travel and he was dying to go to Vegas but I had no personal interest in the city of Vegas. Want to know how he twisted my arm to go to Vegas? I would like to think that I have a strong personality and can stand strong for what I may or may not want to do alas I do not. I can be BRIBED into doing almost anything, a fault in which my boyfriend has learned to capitalize and use strategically against me. What was the bribe you ask? I have been bribed into going to Vegas with the promise of Shania Twain.

I have LOVED Shania since as long as I could remember, every summer I would spend my days in front of CMT (Country Music Television for those outside Canada) and just bask in the happiness that is country music. As a kid Shania Twain was HUGE! And I loved her ever since I got a discman and all of her CDs. There are very few things in life I am truly passionate about and can still give me butterflies whenever having any kind of exposure to and these things include: Harry Potter, Disney Movies and country music specifically 90's country because I think that is one of the best eras of great country music. In saying that my weakness has been spotted and I am off to Vegas!

We are off Mid February and I am not sure what to expect when preparing for NYC we decided proper preparation was watching Sex and The City, Friends and all other things filmed in The Big Apple but seeing as that failed us BIG TIME we are in need of another preparation method. Let's be honest some of the most recent ( and great) Vegas movies have been Oceans 11 and The Hangover and seeing as I am not going there for a bachelor party and I am not nearly as cunning and have 11 people that I actually like in this life outside family neither of those movies are great for preparation.

I will keep you posted on my Vegas adventures and the things a small Northern girls learns there...
